All applicants must submit a MITA 2022 application form, or update it if a returning student.

In addition to the application form, applicants must provide:

  • YouTube links of two performances with contrasting style pieces 

  • Solo repertoire ready to be selected and performed in August 

  • Personal statement, covering the following points, but not limited to:

    • Where do you see yourself in your music performing career at the moment?

    • Which accomplishments and shortcomings in music do you consider as a part of your personal and professional growth?

    • List areas of your musical development that in your opinion need work and improvement.

    • What are you excited about gaining from your experience at the Music in the Alps Festival?

    • How do you see yourself contributing to the memorable and enriching life of the Festival?

  • Schedule a 30-min video interview with the Director

  • The video interviews can be scheduled via WhatsApp, Messenger, Facetime, Viber, or Telegram

  • $100 non-refundable registration fee (included in the tuition)

  • Payments are accepted through PayPal to Music in the Alps Plus

Internships

Non-paid internships are available for undergraduate and graduate music, business, marketing, and video and audio production students. Interns will assist with the Rising Stars Program, with compensation based on the applicant’s experience.

Not included, must be individually planned and booked.

Important: check travel and vaccination and/or booster requirements for airline policies, country of entrance advisory, and transportation authority regulations before booking your international flights and local transportation.

It is the participant’s responsibility to create a safe environment for themselves and in relation to others. 

Individual trip and health insurance (also covering COVID-19 treatment and quarantine) is required. COVID-19 tests will be solely the participant’s responsibility.


Terms & Conditions

• Airfare, visas, and other travel documents are not included in the tuition fee. Music in the Alps can provide an invitation letter outlining your participation in the Festival

• No additional spending money, insurance (travel, medical, personal), or musical instrument rental fees and insurance are included

• Participants are responsible for their own sheet music needed for performances

• Your place in the Festival will not be secured until your deposit is received


Audio & Video Recording

The audio and video team will record every performance at MITA. Several performances will be livestreamed via the MITA YouTube channel and then archived. Links to the livestreamed videos will be posted on the MITA website, Facebook page, and other social media prior to the performance.

Livestream videos are edited in real time during the broadcast and may require additional corrections as far as shot-framing, transitions, speed of angle changes, etc.

Performers interest in obtaining audio/video recordings of their performances may:

• Access the videos on the MITA website, YouTube channel, social media, etc.

• Request a digital file via Dropbox at no charge

• Request raw footage files from each camera, including audio, at no charge

 • Request a further edited version of the video, including color correction, framing, audio synchronization, addition of titles and other text, transitions, etc. Performers will be charged $25 per hour for additional editing service, with most editing jobs taking between one and three hours. Performers are encouraged to communicate directly with the audio/video team to determine the cost.
